Hello GCC Family,
The DO IT & Marketing teams have updated elements of the design and functionality of the website framework that is used by the colleges across the district. This is driven in large part by the sunsetting of the version of the Drupal Content Management System on which the District and college websites are based.
CURRENT STATUS – The DO has provided the colleges with redesigned page frameworks and a sandbox in which to work. The GCC Web Dev team is setting up page templates, documenting processes and starting to migrate content from the old site to the new.
FREEZING CHANGES – How This Impacts You
On July 28th we need to freeze all Drupal access, as well as any change requests. This will allow the Web Dev Team to focus on migrating content without risk of duplicating or deleting text or images. This ‘freeze’ will end when the new site launches in the second week of September, barring any unforeseen issues.
POST LAUNCH – The Web Dev Team will work with you to make any necessary changes after the refreshed site goes live. The new version of the website will require updated training before you can access your department’s page to make changes. We will advise of the training schedule as soon as it is available.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we go through this critical, complex and time intensive process.
Feel free to contact us directly with questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Dave Fraedrich and John Heckenlaible
